Learn about a clinical trial for adults with out-of-control gout.
If your gout symptoms continue despite treatment, you may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study evaluating a study drug for individuals with uncontrolled gout.
This clinical trial is enrolling healthy adults who:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have uncontrolled gout (symptoms continue despite current or prior treatment)
- At least 1 visible tophus (lump caused by uric acid buildup).
There are other requirements that the study team will discuss with you.
What to expect:
- You will complete a 4-week run-in period with methotrexate. If you are unable to tolerate it, you will be discontinued from the study, will not receive any active study drug, and will continue with safety follow-up visits by phone or email. The study will then include a 48-week treatment period where you will receive the study drug alongside methotrexate.
- Participation in this study will not come at an additional cost to you. Reasonable expenses such as travel and parking may be reimbursed within reasonable limits.
